What works in Italy, and what doesn't

Networks, the end of 3G, VAT-inclusive prices and kids watches in Italy.

Italian 3G is almost gone: TIM switched it off in 2022, WindTre has switched off part of it with no final date yet, and Vodafone and Iliad have mostly switched it off. 2G stays on, with no end date announced. Choose a 4G watch with VoLTE.

    Carriers and watch plans

    Only TIM (€3.99/month) and Vodafone (€3/month) can put a smartwatch on your phone number in Italy.

      Health features in Italy

      These features are available in Italy.

      • Apple: ECG, irregular rhythm and sleep apnea notifications. Apple Watch For Your Kids is not available.
      • Samsung ECG: available, but needs a Galaxy phone.
      • Garmin ECG: available in the EU since January 2025.
