Number sharing on a smartwatch: how it works
Short answer: Number sharing means the watch uses the same phone number as your phone, so calls and messages reach both. It still needs a watch plan from your carrier.
What it does
With number sharing the watch has its own cellular link but not its own number. People call your usual number, and you can answer on the watch or the phone. Outgoing calls from the watch show your number.
What the carriers say
Cellcom and Pelephone both state number sharing in their watch plans (as listed on October 4, 2026). Check what each includes: calls, messages and data, and whether abroad is covered. Pelephone's page says domestic only.
What to ask
- Which calls and messages come to the watch?
- Does data on the watch count toward my phone plan or separately?
- What happens when the phone is off?
- What happens if I switch phone or carrier?
Limits
Number sharing needs a supported watch and phone pair. A Bluetooth-only watch does not need a plan, but it needs the phone nearby. See cellular or Bluetooth.
